Total XS Baggage Services is an inexpensive alternative way to transport your excess luggage. Your luggages will be transported via air cargo or sea freight as per your requirement and the same can be either picked up personally at the airline/ocean consolidator at destination port or delivered to right to your door.

How can I compare the rates of Total XS Baggage Services with that of the particular airlines that I am travelling on?
Total XS Baggage Services rates are on an average 80% cheaper than regular airlines passenger cargo tariff. Since Total XS Baggage Services has access to cheaper cargo rates, your luggage will proceed to the destination as air cargo.

Can I use Total XS Baggage Services worldwide?
Yes; provided the arrival airport have an international customs office.

How advance shall I make a reservation to avail XS Baggage Service?
Ideally we recommend 2-3 days from booking; however we can serve you within 24 hours notice during contingencies.

Does Total XS Baggage Services arrange for door-to-door delivery service?
Yes. Total XS Baggage Services being a part of Total Freight International LLC who is a member of WFG with agents worldwide in 110 countries covering more than 300 sea/air ports Globally, there is an extensive coverage on door-to-door delivery option. Furthermore, Total XS Baggage Services is also a member of WBN – World Baggage Network which has representation in more than 35 countries based in Europe, Americas, Africa, Asia and Oceania. These two arrangements facilitate our agents to manage customs clearance and arrange door-to-door delivery of your baggage shipments at your destination.

Does my luggage arrive on the conveyer belt at my destination?
No. The luggage sent through Total XS Baggage Services can be picked up only in the cargo area of the destination airport. We will provide you with the necessary information so that you can easily locate your luggage at your destination. The airline/agent we entrust your luggage will contact you for pick up.

Does my luggage with Total XS Baggage Services travel in the same plane as me?
Not usually. We recommend you to send your luggage 5-6 days prior to your departure in order to be able to pick it up upon your arrival. Due to different regulations for cargo freight, your luggage will travel in a different airplane than you are on. Your luggage will be ready for customs clearance and pick up at destination generally with in 6-12 hours of arrival.

Does my luggage travel in a passenger- or in a cargo plane?
Total XS Baggage Services choose both passenger as well as cargo aircrafts to transport your luggage.

What airlines does Total XS Baggage Services use?
Total XS Baggage Services use the service of all airlines operated from/to Dubai / AUH /SHJ airports. Your luggage may travel with the same airline company as of your travel. Sometimes it’s more viable to use a different airline that connects directly to your destination without the need of any changeovers.

How do I get my luggage at the destination airport?
You can pick up your luggage in the cargo area of the airline we entrusted your luggage to after it has gone through customs. As soon as we accept your luggage we will inform you the name of the airline together with a 11-digit freight code (AWB number) which you can use to track your luggage online. You will also receive the IATA code of the airline, the planned date and time of arrival as well as the airline’s phone number at the airport of your arrival. How long will Total XS Baggage Services take between receiving the luggage and the arrival at the destination?
Total XS Baggage Services uses all international airlines and the connections available that are most suitable to your departure date. The estimated duration of transport is usually as follows:

Even though we are using the most reliable airlines we are not liable for any delays, which are beyond our control. In case of any delayed luggage we recommend staying in close contact with the airline at destination until your luggage has been delivered. If need be, please be in touch with us and our team will be glad to support you. Kindly note the time zone differences and weekends, which might slightly delay our assistance.

Will there be any additional cost at the airport of arrival?
It is likely that there will be some additional cost at the airport of arrival such as airport fees, customs fees, quarantine fees etc. These fees are determined by the individual airlines, agencies or airports. If you are asked to pay for something we advise you to find out what it is that you are paying for and to ask for a receipt.

How are the import fees (customs duties) for goods determined?
Customs fees, taxes and/or import fees (customs duties) are different depending on the country you are traveling to. For personal belongings and clothing there are usually no fees (customs duty). Under certain circumstances you might be required to present purchase receipts.

How do I arrange for a pick up of my luggage by Total XS Baggage Services?
You can reach us Saturday thru to Thursday before 5 pm to arrange for a pick up for the following business day or book it via email (totaldb@eim.ae,). Please make sure that your luggage is packed and ready to go for the time arranged unless mentioned otherwise. The max. size of each piece of luggage should not exceed 80x80x80 cms and also the weight be limited to 40kg/package. However there are exceptions on the allowable size and weight depending on the type of carrier used and the information can be obtained from our customer service staff.

How should I pack my luggage?
Since your luggage is bound for a big trip, it should be appropriately packed to avoid damage or pilferages etc. Only use good quality suitcases, bags, or boxes. Please remember that these are your personal belongings, which are often irreplaceable despite adequate insurance. Please don’t exceed the specified weight restrictions. You only pay for the weight not for the number of pieces you bring. Put fragile items in the center of the luggage and wrap them in clothing or newspaper. For computers or any electronic devices please use only the original packaging. If this is not possible please contact any retailer. For example, boxes for bicycles are available at a bike shop. Pay attention to getting the right size. If possible let the bike shop pack your bicycle. Please ensure that the product is clean. Many countries have strict quarantine regulations. Hire a professional packing company for fragile items. And avoid using soft bags!

Can I send suitcases?
Yes, Absolutely. You can also send Trunks, Plastic containers and strong cardboard boxes.

Items I should not bring or can not bring?
You would be surprised how many daily items are not allowed to be transported in airplanes. Dangerous goods are strictly prohibited. Among those are explosives, gasoline, chemicals like paint or paint thinners, batteries, acidic materials, perfume, pressurized containers, ammunition and any kind of weapons, radioactive materials, gas etc. You are required to sign a declaration upon delivery of luggages stating that you have not included any of those items in your luggage. Any breach of this safety rule will hold you liable for all consequences.

How do I mark my luggage?
Clearly mark inside and outer side of your luggages with home address, telephone number, e-mail etc. If you have multiple baggages you should mark them with respect to the number of bags in total (i.e. No 1 of 5).

What is the smallest size luggage accepted by Total XS Baggage Services?
Ofcourse you can send small, even tiny packages with us. However our minimum tariff would apply.

Do I have to seal my luggage for transport?
You are welcome to seal or lock your luggage. Your luggage will go through an X-ray machine, stored in a low-pressure chamber. However we do have to advise you that customs at any airport has the right to open your luggage without you being present. Therefore we would like to recommend that you leave a second key with us in a sealed envelope or use only combination locks and provide security no. to us, so that we can arrange for a customs inspection if needed.

Is it necessary for me to include a list of items?
Yes. An itomised packing list with value for customs purpose are mandatory. You should also provide us copies of your passport, itinerary.

Will I be charged for the actual weight or the volume weight of my luggage?
The airfreight is charged for gross weight or volume weight which ever is on higher basis.
Normally your luggage will be evaluated by gross weight. International airlines assume a volume/weight ratio of 167kg per cubic meter. To be more specific, the standard formula for calculating volumetric cargo is: Length (cm) x Width (cm) x Height (cm) divided by 6000.

Example: 52 x 94 x 61 equals 49.69 kilos, which rounds up to 50 kilos.

What are your payment options?
We accept cash, demand drafts, Visa, or MasterCard.

Is it possible to send my luggage not prepaid or cash on delivery?
Unfortunately not. International airlines will only accept luggage that has been paid for in advance. But we can arrange shipmnet with our agents to collect charges at destination basis.

How do I determine the total weight of my luggage?
The higher value of either the actual weight or the volume weight will be used. The official IATA volume/gross weight formula is length x width x height (in cm) / 6000 = volume weight in kg.

Will Total XS Baggage Services accept insufficient packaging?
Unfortunately not. The decision whether an item is sufficiently packaged lies with our employees who are evaluating your luggage during pick up. In your own best interest we encourage you to pack you luggage sufficiently to ensure a damage free transport.

Is there a transport insurance policy?
Any cargo is automatically insured by the airline with USD 20.00. Per kg against loss or any externally visible damage. Damages and claims must be done immediately with the airline after receiving your luggage at the airport of destination. Through Total XS Baggage Services you can get additional insurance against all risk, but breakage. The premium is 3% of the overall value, or a minimum of AED 370.00 (US$ 100.00) provided the goods are packed by an authorized retail packer. (Names can be provided on request)

Does Total XS Baggage Services also ship my luggage?
Yes, we do. But in many cases it would take too long for your luggage. Besides that we don’t think that it would be a convenient alternative for you since we want your luggage to be available to you at the airport of your international destination.

Does Total XS Baggage Services transport live animals or goods that can spoil?
Yes, we can handle. But this service is applicable only to certain destinations thru some selected carriers. Special Terms and condititions may apply and acceptance will be subject to carrier’s approval.

Can you arrange storage?
Yes. Many of our customers do some extended travelling before them reaching their final destination. During this period, we can arrange for storage and later on arrange a flight that will deliver the goods to the destination airport just before (or after) your arrival. We make similar arrangements for sea freight as well to match your arrival date. Storage at origin port is far less expensive than at destination.

Does weight matter for sea freight service?
The weight limit per cubic meter is 1000kgs. Therefore usually the weight will not be a consideration. However, if you require the goods to be picked up and transported overland, trucking charges are based on weight.
